CalcQube publishes free calculators and explanatory guides. This page describes the standards we hold them to, so you can judge how much weight to give a result.

How we choose and build a calculator

  • Standard formulas first. Each calculator implements a published, widely used formula (for example the amortisation formula for loans, or the WHO adult BMI categories). Where several accepted methods exist, we say which one the tool uses.
  • Shown working. Wherever practical the page explains the formula and includes worked examples, so you can reproduce a result by hand.
  • Testing. We check results against hand calculations and known reference values, and test edge cases such as zero, negative and very large inputs.
  • Privacy by design. Calculations run in your browser. Currency tools fetch exchange rates from a third-party feed. See our privacy policy for details.

Sources

Where a calculator depends on rules or reference data (tax authorities, health bodies, standards organisations, central banks) we link to the official source at the bottom of the page. We prefer government, intergovernmental, university and standards-body publications over commercial sites.

Time-sensitive figures

Tax rates, thresholds, contribution limits and exchange rates change. Calculators that depend on them are reviewed periodically, and each page shows the date it was last reviewed. If you rely on a figure for a real decision, confirm it with the official source linked on the page.

Not professional advice

CalcQube results are estimates for general information. They are not medical, veterinary, tax, legal, investment or accounting advice. For decisions that matter, consult a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Guides

Guides are written to explain concepts and common mistakes, with worked examples whose arithmetic is checked. We avoid unsourced statistics, and we label illustrative numbers as illustrative. See all guides.

Corrections

If you find an error, a broken source link or a result that disagrees with an authoritative reference, please contact us with the calculator name and the inputs you used. We investigate reports, correct confirmed errors, and update the review date on the pages we change.

Advertising and independence

CalcQube is supported by advertising. Ads do not influence which formulas we use or what our guides say, and we do not accept payment to alter a calculation or recommend a product.
